There is a difference between having a house-sitting profile and having a GOOD house-sitting profile. Follow these three quick and easy tips to create a trustworthy profile.

The key to a good profile is having photos with you AND animals. Just having photos of you or animals is ok, but for people who quickly flick through your photos, it’s important they can get a feel for your vibes. This was the number one piece of advice we were given when we created our profile on TrustedHousesitters.

KEEP YOUR INTRO SHORT & SWEET

People are usually quickly scanning profiles during a workday or in the evening, so don’t start waffling too early on. You want to come across as professional but friendly, so keep the intro concise. Introduce yourself, state your current situation (travel, remote working, career break, etc), your house-sitting experience (6 months, 1 year, new to it, etc), and why you want to house-sit or why you think you will be good at it.

One of the most important things people look for when they consider leaving their homes and pets in your care is whether you have references. Before we set off on our trip, we had house-sat for some people in our local community.
